    ParknPool’s Outdoor Fitness Equipment

We believe that if our staff is healthy and feels good about themselves then they will be happier individuals both at work and in their personal lives.

Lexington, VA (PRWEB) May 20, 2013

Experience a new level of physical fitness and comfort with ParknPool’s new line of outdoor fitness equipment. Designed with ergonomics in mind, the ten (10) station fitness course or each individual piece is the perfect addition to any outdoor area. Warm up with the stretching post and then follow that up with leg and arm exercises on the ladders and beams. Available signage explains the various stations and gives suggestions for physical programs and warm-up/cool-down routines. The individual pieces can be laid out along a pathway or configured piece by piece to fit a specific area.

The ten (10) stations included in ParknPool’s new Fitness Equipment category on their website are designed to provide several levels of challenging activities for older children and adults. All items are in-ground mounted except for the Sit-Up Bench. Sit-ups are the most basic and common strengthening exercise for the stomach. Abdominal exercises are easier to do with ParknPool’s plastic coated Sit-Up Bench, as it allows a person to brace their feet and avoid having to lift their body flat from the floor; saving individuals from serious back pain.

The Parallel Bars, Pull/Chin Up Bars, and Spring Up Bars offer a simple way to increase upper body strength and fitness while developing coordination, strength and agility. Drills that can be done on the vertical and horizontal ladders improve speed, agility and footwork. Use one of these ladders to burn calories and increase cardiovascular output and endurance. The jumping exercises that can be performed on the Jump Touch Beam, the Beam Run or the Balance Beams provide three (3) substantial benefits to the body. Jumping acts as a cardiovascular exercise, meaning it increases an individual’s heart and respiratory rate, leading to calorie burning and weight loss. Jumping exercises also strengthen leg muscles, especially the calf muscles, along with others like the hamstrings and quadriceps. Finally, jumping helps develop stronger bones, especially in developing children.

According to the Mayo Clinic, the health benefits of regular exercise are hard to ignore. It can control weight, combat health conditions and diseases, improve mood, boost energy, promote sleep, and can also be fun. Exercise gives individuals a chance to unwind, enjoy the outdoors or simply engage in activities that make a person happy. Physical activity is a great way to feel better, gain health benefits and have fun. As a general goal, aim for at least thirty (30) minutes of physical activity every day. “We strongly support our employees to get out and exercise,” explained Brenda Fonner, ParknPool’s Founder and CEO, “We believe that if our staff is healthy and feels good about themselves then they will be happier individuals both at work and in their personal lives”. Because of their support for a healthy lifestyle, ParknPool’s new line of fitness equipment will only help to enhance their strong core values.

ParknPool seeks to ensure that their clients have the best chance to find what they need. Bay Village community fitness center expansion eyed to boost membership

WH Dan Enovitch Bay Community Gym2, Geiselman.JPG
View full sizeBay Village Recreation Director Dan Enovitch says the current community gym lacks the variety of equipment found in many other gyms.

BAY VILLAGE – City officials are considering expanding the fitness center at the Community Gym at Bay Middle School to attract more members.

Gym membership has fallen off dramatically over the past five years, and city officials are trying to figure out how to reverse that trend.

The Community Gym and fitness center is shared by the schools and city residents. During certain afternoon hours, the facilities are closed to the public for use by middle school students. During the morning, early afternoon and evening hours, the facility is open to residents who purchase memberships. It’s also open to the public on weekends.

City Council’s Recreation and Parks Improvement Committee recently toured the Community Gym with Recreation Director Dan Enovitch and discussed reasons for the membership decline.

The existing fitness center is small and has limited equipment, he said. It has dumbbells ranging from 5 to 50 pounds in weight and a bench, but only seven pieces of cardiovascular equipment, including treadmills and stationary bicycles. Enovitch said the fitness center is competing against other gyms that have strength-training equipment and a broader array of cardio equipment.

“We’re sorely in need of some facility here in the city,” City Councilman Dwight Clark said. “We should do something other than have a seven-person cardio room available to us. We’ve talked about that before.”

Council first looked at expanding the fitness center at the Community Gym in 2009, but no action was taken at that time.

Membership at the Community Gym has steadily declined since that year, which is when a companion facility at Bay High School was closed to city residents. Initially, membership in the Community Gym included use of a fitness center and gym at Bay High School, as well as use of the facilities at Bay Middle School. The high school fitness room had additional cardiovascular exercise equipment as well as strength-training machines and free weights.

However, in late 2008, because of increased demand from high school athletic programs for use of the high school facilities, the city decided to close that facility to the public. Student athletes were using the facility so many hours that it was rarely available for others, Enovitch said.

After the city exited its partnership with the school district for use of equipment at the high school, gym membership has fallen, he added.

Between 2009 and today, average annual memberships in the Community Gym have declined from approximately 190 to about 75. An annual individual membership costs $85 for an adult, which is a fraction of what other area gyms charge, Enovitch said.

“Other fitness clubs average $35 per month to over $200 per month, depending on what type of club or fitness room you’re looking at,” he said.

City officials are considering renovating a balcony area overlooking the Middle School basketball court to serve as an expansion area for the fitness center. The balcony now is used only for storage. Enovitch estimates the 70-foot-by-15-foot area could accommodate an additional 10-15 pieces of equipment.

To make this happen, though, the city and schools would need to pay to install a staircase leading from the gym floor to the balcony and purchase additional exercise equipment. The cost of the staircase is estimated at $20,000 to $25,000, and the new equipment could cost $20,000 to $30,000, Enovitch said, adding that those estimates were three years old.

“We do have some money set aside,” Clark said. “We’re required every year to set aside some money. I think the schools pay one-third and we pay two-thirds into a capital reserve fund for the Community Gym.”

However, the city and schools would need to price out the costs of renovations and new equipment. In addition, some council members expressed concerns about whether the air conditioning equipment would provide adequate cooling to the balcony area.

City officials said their discussions are at a preliminary stage. They need an architect to prepare some plans and seek prices. The city also would like some feedback from the community as to what additional features might attract them to join the Community Gym.

Enovitch said any residents with suggestions could call the city Recreation Department at 440-871-6755, or send an email comment to the department at bayrecoffice@cityofbayvillage.com

Clark also recommended the Recreation Department contact former gym members and ask what prompted them to discontinue their memberships.

“We could do it in stages,” said Councilwoman Karen Lieske, who chairs the recreation committee.

She suggested adding a few pieces of equipment to see how the public responds. If the feedback is positive, more equipment could be added later.

Lieske’s committee expects to discuss the issue further at future meetings.

LeaseQ Offers Tips On The Advantages Of Fitness Equipment Leasing – Virtual

Leasing fitness equipment offers fitness professionals the ability to obtain needed equipment for minimal monetary outlay. An equipment leasing provides breaks down the advantages.

Boston MA (PRWEB) May 16, 2013

LeaseQ, one of the leading providers of fitness equipment leasing options in the United States, is offering tips on the advantages to be found in leasing fitness equipment for gyms or personal trainers. With fitness seen as a growing trend across the country, more people are looking for ways to obtain the equipment they need with a minimum of capital expenditures.

Exercise on its own has a number of benefits, such as improving overall shape and appearance as well improving mindset. Some invest their time in learning a new sport, while others may join a gym or adopt an exercise regimen. This allows for workouts as often as one wishes to take advantage of them. This has a mass appeal.

Leasing fitness equipment is a viable option that allows gyms to bring quality exercise gear into their facilities for a reasonable outlay of cash.

Leasing fitness equipment is an attractive proposition for several reasons, namely that it offers the opportunity to test the equipment before committing. Gyms want gear that provides the most comprehensive body workout, especially since home gyms have become increasingly popular in recent years.

Leasing fitness equipment allows the lessor to determine if the unit works properly (finding something that is of real benefit means it is far more likely to be used on a regular basis), as well as allowing for the return of the unit for a newer model at some point in the process.

When considering fitness equipment for leasing, look for that which will provide the most complete workout. Fitness trainers and other experts can be invaluable sources of information when it comes to making this determination. Not all fitness gear is suitable for gym use, so it is important to make sure this is the right tool for the job.

In the end, leasing fitness equipment will save money, since leasing is always more affordable than buying outright. Some balk at leasing due to the fact that you don’t “own” the product, but the upside of being able to switch out or switch up as your needs evolve is a basic benefit that should not be dismissed.

Based in Boston MA, LeaseQ is one of the leading providers of fitness equipment leasing and financing in the country, with plans available for both small and large business operations.
